Local Diving Deaths

In a quick review of the Daily News archive, I found six reported diving deaths in the area since 1989. Jerry Dean Lee of Destin is the seventh. Here is the date that each article appeared, the person’s name, age, hometown and where the accident occurred.

Renee Treybig, 30, Carolton, Texas, 8 miles off Destin

3 Apr 1995
Kenneth Borden, 41, Tennessee, 1 mile off Destin’s East Pass

9 Jul 1996
William H. Holliday, 31, Sulphur, La., off Navarre Pier

11 Sep 2003
Shannon Cloar, 32, Ada, Oklahoma, off Destin

22 Oct 2008
Andrea Coyle, 61, Pensacola, Navarre Beach
