Today in Local History – February 19

20 years ago -1992

Nearly four years after Frank Athen Walls was convicted of murdering an Ocean City couple, investigators were making a renewed effort to link him to other area slayings.

10 years ago – 2012

Three firemen were injured while fighting a fire on Chickasaw Circle in Fort Walton Beach. One fireman suffered a separated shoulder when he fell through the water-soaked roof  of the home, and two other were injured by falling Sheetrock. All three were treated and released from Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
